The kitchen backsplash is one of the most visible tile details in any home — and one of the most technically demanding to do right. Outlets, switches, cabinets, windows, and appliances all require precise cuts and clean reveals. Batista Tile installs kitchen backsplashes for builders and contractors across Cape Cod who demand a finish that looks custom, not contractor-grade.

What Sets a Professional Backsplash Apart

  • Countertop and cabinetry protection — surfaces covered and secured before we touch a single tile, no damage, no callbacks.

  • Precise outlet and switch cutouts — clean, gap-free, no patches.

  • Consistent grout joints — especially critical on subway tile and small-format mosaics.

  • Proper edge treatment — bullnose, Schluter trim, or mitered corners depending on spec.

  • Full coverage setting — no hollow spots behind tile Correct layout starting point — centered on focal point, not arbitrarily from a corner.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you work with cabinet makers and kitchen designers?

Yes. We regularly coordinate with cabinet installers, countertop fabricators, and designers to sequence the work correctly and avoid conflicts. Let us know who else is on the job and we'll coordinate directly.

Can you install full-slab backsplash (porcelain or quartz)?

Yes, we handle any stone or porcelain material that is up to 3/4" thick. Large-format porcelain slab backsplash is increasingly popular and is something we do well. It requires a perfectly flat substrate and precise cutting — we have the equipment and experience to do it right.

How do you handle the area behind the range or cooktop?

Ranges and cooktops get a full tile run-up, often to the underside of the range hood. We use appropriate heat-resistant setting materials and seal grout joints near high-heat areas.

What's the typical timeline for a kitchen backsplash?

Most kitchen backsplashes take 2-3 days including set and grout. We require countertops to be fully installed before we start.

Do I need to supply the tile or do you provide it?

Either way works. Many builders supply tile from their preferred supplier. We're also happy to recommend suppliers on Cape Cod and can assist with material selection and quantity estimates.
